About Us

Bible Freaks is a non-profit Bible study community created to help Christian women read and understand Scripture faithfully and in context.

It started simply with three women meeting to study the Bible with a contextual approach to Scripture, grounded in theology, hermeneutics, and historical understanding. At the center of it all was the simplicity of the Gospel and reading Scripture not from any denominational bias but through the lens of Christ.

Over the course of a year, the study grew steadily. Women kept coming back and inviting more friends. Today, what began with three women has now grown to 50+ women studying together.

Along the way, a short video we shared on Instagram unexpectedly went viral and with that, new women discovered our community and reached out to join. We now continue to welcome new friends who are looking for a serious, thoughtful, and grounded way to study Scripture.

Our mission

Our mission is simple: to equip Christian women to read their Bibles contextually and faithfully, ultimately pointing them to the pure and simple Gospel of Christ.

Why Bible Freaks

The name Bible Freaks started as a joke. At first, it was just a playful way of saying how serious and focused our Bible studies had become until one day, we realized that the name was perfect for us.

You see, following Jesus has never been about fitting in. Jesus spent His time with people the world dismissed... the poor, the unclean, the sinners and all the ones counted as the least. His life and teachings consistently ran against what was comfortable, acceptable, or popular and in this sense, the name Bible Freaks fits the heart behind our community. It isn't just because we can sit for hours studying Scripture together, but also because following Christ has always meant living a life against the grain.

Turns out, there's a freak in all of us... :)
